One of my favorite visits so far took place with The King's Daughters. This is a collaborative effort where sex workers come to learn skills that will allow them to seek full time employment so they can provide for their families and get out of illegal prostitution. Fixing bikes is one of the areas in which they train. The idea was started by a widow who began teaching a Bible study for abused women. The State Department helped her with a small grant to start the bicycle shop. She has since been recognized by Secretary Clinton as one of a handful of women who are considered as leaders of the movement to liberate sex workers around the world. She was truly inspiring and had a Godly glow about her.
